Guelph - Peterborough Greyhound Bus Trip

It's maybe a two hour drive in the car from Guelph to Peterborough, but we were taking the bus. The trip departed from Guelph around 2:15PM then stopped in Toronto. On this particular occurrence my girlfriend and I got the last two seats and they were across the aisle from one another. I did a few logic puzzles and listened to my iPod until we pulled into the downtown Toronto bus station around 3:15PM. Now we had to wait 75 minutes before the next bus left for Peterborough. We found a couple of chairs in the bus station café, set our bags down and devoured the last six inches of the subs that we saved from our Subway lunch, before the trip. By 4PM we were in the pub downstairs where I was finishing my bottle of $5.05 Bud and regretting a $0.95 tip; way too much for a bottle. Anyway, we went upstairs to grab the bus. A friend we were meeting was already near the front of a very long line. He let us in, we got on the bus but again we were split up all the way to Peterborough; another packed bus. We left by 4:30, got to Peterborough by 6:30PM. My brother and his girlfriend were there to pick us up where we joined a birthday party that carried on into the night.

The trip home two days later was a breeze. We were, of course, split up the whole way back to Guelph. But this time, when we made it back to Toronto, there was a connecting bus to Guelph leaving in ten minutes. So we hopped on, and got home a good 70 minutes ahead of schedule. Bon voyage.
